Just let it snow!

I laughed out loud tonite as I walked though Walgreen watching men trying to pick out that perfect card!
I decided we would skip the cards, chocolate and flowers this year ... live life- you know adventure a little?
So in a late nite internet search to buy bargain tickets to take hubby Dog Sledding...
yes in the cold?
I was determined I was just going to watch... well we all know how that turned out I sure did watch from the basket!
It was a blast , just check it off my bucket list!
Time to go home again!

Scrapping Again- Pretty Girl!

I think I gave up on the organizing for now , I have 15 verticals sorted and the 16 12x12 boxes labeled by brand! Oh so much paper - too little time!
I am going to get back to scrapbooking some layouts and do a few challenges this month!
I did this one for the Authentique challenge this month! It is Emma from her Thanksgiving photo's , first time I have done a black & white in a long time!
I think I like it!
I used Authentique Orginal, Uncommon,and Special, , I cut the tag apart from the matching embellishment for Pretty Girl, used a Prima flower and some little bling flower from my stash.

Good Intentions

I always start off the New year with all these great intentions.... somehow they seem to get lost about January 13th... I can't believe it is February already? It is so warm with no sight of winter...I really need a nice snow and cup of hot chocolate soon, maybe I need to go find it?
I have made lots of progress in my scrap room , finished several projects, and made a list of I wants from CHA, still working on Pay it forward 5 , might be finished by the weekend.
Waiting on my box of goodies from Momenta , working on a couple of challenges for the month, sorting some photos so I feel pretty productive after all!
My goal for February -- , make a few valentines , finish my room, and get back to scrap booking a page a day?

1. Yes that is my New Weather Radio - after watching the news and hearing a story about it saving a man and his family I said "we need this" after all I spend a crazy amount of $$$ on stuff- so I bought 2 one for my house and 1 for Heather's House (they live in Grandma's house up my our driveway) This last Sunday storms tore up an area about a hour south of us! I stayed up all night the "storm watcher", crazy I know this is only January , today still in high 60's --
Mother Nature wake up... I think you may be a bit confused?

2. Photochic & Lin C please email me your mailing info I am sending you some Scraps! I know you both read my posts! You both were the only one to comment! Thanks

3. I think I may be a Bit (or maybe alot) OCD or ADD -- I can NOT focus .... I am still sorting and losing items ... this selling online has me in complete confusion -- I have decided to make a mailing center(out of the bedroom) -- I have been selling lots of things on FB (crazy of all places but that's OK recouping a Lil cash from boxes of great items from store)
Luckily I have found 3 of the 4 missing items this month! My glasses were in the same place on dresser the whole time~

4. I am actually on No.2 of my 5 Pay it Forward....
Not posting till I am done with 5!

5. My list is not as long for CHA as I expected -- as I sort I think Why?
I would only use it once!
(maybe a friend will buy I can use it? As for Dies Lot's of folks cutting and selling on Etsy Chipboard items.

I ordered my supplies for D-Lite today ( they let us pick oh so hard for me) so excited to see what the mail brings and to do some layouts for them I have pulled pictures already.

Almost there!

I bought this cabinet last year , finally have sorted and labeled all my stuff- I call it my Tim stash!

I have cute little bins (about 18) I had 13 from my years as a daycare provider that I repurposed.
I hope that next week I will be able to sort all my paper in categories by season, lots are already sorted (when I had the store I would bring home bags and than they each went into a clear 12x12 box with the thought of a project to do!
I am going to try to get rid of half ? oh me ....
I am doing a card class for Valentine's Day with some kits I never sold at a local retirement community, and I am going to do a journal class at a local paint shop , email if you are interested and I will get you a date and price.
I am working on my Pay it Forward -- 5 people -different Homemade items -- 3- I never met....
I have only made it to one painting class, hopefully Thursday -- also having lunch - crafting with few of Tim's fans this week... Do you have friends that craft different?
Home for a few weeks , have plans to declutter but somehow I just make more piles...
BTW I have made a DESIGN Team ... more on that soon... hopefully it will inspire me to do a little more! I also took my new Mini printer out of Box - soon it will have a Home in my room --

How did I make that book?

This is this month's kit ....

I made it 12 pages plus the covers -

I have had several Newbies ask "How Did you make that" if you are new to the Scrap world or making mini albums "FEAR NOT" it is so easy!
First I cut my paper for the covers they are 4x6 covers from zutter - so you can decide which you want to be the cover!
Remember "There are no Rules.. you decide ....
Next I cut 4 sheets in to strips - each sheet will give you 3 - 4in pieces
3x4= 12 pages
Next I cut the 12 strips into 9 in pieces
Then I score them at 6in folding the 3in score
the 3 in pieces I cut off I inked with Chestnut ink
I used them as background for mini photo mats
Inside the folded section - I used some cardstock to make my 12 thoughts for next year-
Next I punched wholes with the Bind it all -
if you don't have a BIA - you could punch two holes and add rings or ribbon.
Next embellish and have fun!

There are a few kits left for this month if you want to order! This would also make a Beautiful Valentine's book - especially with the rose paper as your cover!

I am traveling with Hubby this week- he works I adventure, we have dinner and it is really nice to be able spend time doing what ever these days! It is the best part of NOT owning the store anymore.

I have painted a $1 notebook - waiting to see what happens- did a shopping trip to Gigi's found some great journal cards! Stopped at Hl and found some zutter pages really cheap .71 wow - I am really enjoying the Bind-it-all - I bought it two years ago!
Tomorrow I have 2 stores I hope to visit -- just hope there is NOT a big bridge ...I hate to drive over bridges -- LOL not good near the Gulf!

Thanks for visiting our hop- the day was a wonderful!... there were some glitches but I have learned a few NEW things about planning a hop!
SO if you ever plan one here are few tips!
1. Post early in am
2. Check everyones link before I leave ( we took a adventure to Archivers)
3. Make sure folks add a link to all blogs in thier post also in case someone doesn't post and leave you hanging or jumping back and forth... so you can hop on....
4. Remind the people who are posting and suggest they only post for ONE group at a time - kinda frustrating to folks when they have to click to find the hop they are looking for!
So I hope you saw some great tips along the way!

This the First Mini Album Kit I ever bought Probably 2006-7 - I finished it 01/06/2011 I love the colors- Bo Bunny has always been a favorite! These are single sided -papers , Bo Bunny remains a staple in my collection!

Really people are buying tapes to print words on? This one is from my stash from Scrapin Kats... so at least 4 years old-New in package!

I used the EK Sucess Piercing bug- you use to mark the dots to pierce with a needle - great for brads or buttons -- Thanks But I think I will use my crop-a-dile!

WOW ...I have so many items I had to have and never used! I wonder how many more do this? I am NOT alone!

Looking for inspiration Late at night?

So what do you when your up all night?
Look for inspiration , read all the blogs, make lists of the things I don't need? But there is so much out there - bargain stores, ebay, etsy,and pininterst!
I find myself sending links to
1. Son - this would be a great business adventure
2. My oldest daughter- a new Christmas village piece by precious moments that I found on pininterest
3. Leaving random comments on cute blogs just for fun!
So I am tackling my boxes one at a time this month from store - and have been selling it!Get it Sold and Alabama Scrappers Swap shop on facebook!
Sell 3 things and I can buy one NEW one , sounds fair to me!

I have been working on the tag swap! I have been cutting all weekend but I think I have a plan! Now to make each one or assembly line? Some things will be assembly line since they need to dry- I googled, spent time on pininterest, and flipped through lots of old books, I have a decision making problem,, and well maybe just to much to choose from - but please note I did not buy anything NEW for this just using my stash! This is the first swap I have done in a long time, it will be held on Dec 3 at the local community center we have used a couple times for crops, I have not seen many of these people since spring! Now what to do with all these scraps? Leave a comment and one Lucky Person will get A Donna's Christmas newspaper from my stash, its great for words, musical papers, and some FUN Scrappy news! I promise to share my finished project soon.

Planning my December

So I have once again been a bad blogger... but I did a few things on my trip ... visited all my family , My Son and his girls in Ohio, My Parents, brothers and sister in Chicago, this trip has brought lots of emotion with it, I see lots of changes and not sure I like them , time to make more time with family a priorty for next year!
I worked on this mini book for December, I hope to fill it with pictures and notes, my plan is to make a mini for each month next year to use as a journal. THis is from My Little Yellow Bicycle Winter Wishes Collection.

My 10 tips for Finding the LSS

Oh my what a trip....thought I would share what I have discovered to be important....

1. Check The Papercrafters Corner www.papercrafterscorner.com
2. Map it out ...
3. Check the stores website/blog ... not updated not a good sign...
4. CALL before going... the seem to move, close or disapear off the grid....quickly these days...
5. Hours , days,
6. What is near ? Because not all GPS seem to be able to find the LSS....
7. Fill up the gas tank...
8. Ask do they carry Tim Holtz ink or Graphic 45? If the answer is Tim who? Graphic what?
SKIP IT....
9. Make sure you find somewhere to Park your hubby, mine likes the crop area or the closest coffee spot- and if he is in the crop area he gives free advice.... and design help?
10. Be Prepared for change.... today we ended up in a winery...

Beautiful Fall weekend

What a beautiful weekend! we have been in the car ... left Fl. Friday evening, spent the night in Macon, Ga and have drove throught Tennesse and Kentucky today!
The leaves are beautiful, tomorrow another 5 hours and we are there till Wednesday! I have several projects I hope to finish... I seem to get more done in the hotel! Plan on doing a little shopping before I see my granddaughters on Thursday- It has been over a YEAR since we have seen them!
I guess there are some perks being free from the scrapbook store... but I do MISS it!

Frugal Scrapbooker?

I think I am a FRUGAL scrapbooker!
I just can NOT stand to waste paper!
I spent the day sorting my summer shopping trips into messy room! I also cut a herd of deer for my Christmas tags- I played with the vagabond all afternoon! I really love the mini dies ... I think I have to buy a few more...
I just hate to waste my paper so I cut it small enough and use papers tape to SAVE my Kraft paper! I would estimate that I have 18 paper holders that hold about 200 sheets each-- You know waste NOT want Not?

So I have decided I am NOT a hoarder! I am frugal!

For My Trick - I made a Treat Bag-- Yummy! fill it all your favorites- Chocolate and sweets-
I used Crafty Secrets Postcard Kit for Halloween, Tim's New ink Gathered Twigs to edge, of course I think as all scrapbookers I would want to use the embellishment on a page or for another use , so I put some super Crafty Power Tape for later use!
My Bag came from Walmart 5/$1 , some ribbons from my stash!
Just a little project but you could make some great Holiday wrappings for little gifts!
SO easy for School/church projects, even small children could help!

9. Big Shot -- it doesn't need electric (learned that last week)

Some day I will find the perfect storage solution (lol) I am in process of taking my paper from racks to vertical storage and clear boxes (sorted by brands)-- I had all my embellishments in boxes - but have been using this clip up lately -- I plan to buy another or make something smiliar --

Scrapin Kats Store is closed but thats Not stopping the girls from Scrappin!
They met last nite at Grumpys Pizza for Grunge class , 8 ladies showed up to play with some of the great Tm Holtz items and created some cute mini tag books. We invited Tim to come but he is busy in the Uk this week!
Since Closing the store Kathy is doing Crops on the go... planning classes and crops around town ... watch to see where they go next?

Scrapin Kats Closing

To all our friends and customers of Scrapin Kats We will be closing the store , I have enjoyed meeting you and becoming friends, many of you have become cherished friends and we have shared alot of special life moments together.
It is time to close, it seems like the last few months it has been a struggle to be open, I have tried many things and they just don't seem to work.

I am looking forward to spending time with my parents, family and grandchildren in the next few months, these are the most important things in my life.

When you own a business you have to give up many things in order to keep it going , in todays economy the small store can not compete with big chains and online stores, this is very evident in the scrapbook industry.

My plan is that we will close on December 14, effective Tomorrow all Inventory will be 40% off untill December 11th.

We will be selling some of the paper racks these will not be available untill they are empty, you will need to pay and they will be held for you.

All sales will be final - cash or credit card only, no personal checks
If you have a gift card please use ASAP
Store Credit from yard sale - No discounts - Please use ASAP

Monday Thru Friday 11-5:30
Saturday 10-5
